For files with complex layouts, accessibility issues, or STEM content, we recommend choosing the "Complex PDF" option. This converts your PDF to HTML that meets the WCAG AA 2.2 standard - the gold standard for accessibility. From there, you can export the HTML as a PDF/UA, Word document, MP3, and more.

For simply converting PDF files to the PDF/UA standard (by adding tag structure, alt text, and metadata) choose "Simple PDF". This process is fast and cost-effective, and works best for simple text documents.

Once your file is converted you can open the HTML editor by selecting "View".

The HTML editor includes a full set of text editing tools, along with MathType integration for editing equations.

When you're done editing, review your document's accessibility score by selecting "Check Document", or export your accessible document as HTML, DOCX, or PDF/UA.
