The Summary feature in Jamworks is your AI-powered tool for turning full-length lectures, meetings, or study sessions into clear, concise overviews. Whether you’re short on time or reviewing for exams, Jamworks Summaries help you understand the main ideas quickly without replaying entire sessions.

What Is the Jamworks Summary Feature?

Jamworks automatically listens to your recorded sessions and uses AI to generate short, easy-to-understand summaries of what was discussed. These are broken down into digestible sections and designed to capture:

  • Key concepts

  • Important terminology

  • Examples and explanations

  • Overall takeaways

Getting Started with Summaries

1. Record or Upload a Session

  • Open Jamworks and click “Start Recording” during a live lecture, tutorial, or meeting. More information on this here.

  • Alternatively, upload an existing audio or video file.

  • Once the session ends, Jamworks will process the recording and begin generating a summary.

*Note: Summaries may take a few minutes to generate, depending on the length of the session. See Jamworks Trouble shooting guide for more information.

Viewing Your Summary

2. Access the Summary

  • From the Jamworks recordings page, choose the relevant session.

  • Select the “Summary” tab to view your session’s summary.

  • Here is essentially a ‘conclusion’ to your session recording- with an overview of key points established.

  • Use the options in the right hand toolbar to choose which format you would like to view your summary in, turn on focus reader or download the content.

Study with Summaries: Turning Summaries into Study Aids

  • Use the JamQuiz feature to turn summary content into flashcards for active recall.

  • Generate practice quizzes from the summary to test your knowledge using Jamworks AI assistant

  • You can also download your summary for offline learning

    Troubleshooting Tips:

  • If a summary seems too vague or off-topic: Check the audio clarity of your recording.

  • Manually highlight important moments during the session to guide the AI

  • You can always edit or regenerate summaries if needed.

The Jamworks Summary feature helps you actively take in the essential parts of your session- capturing hours of lecture content into focused, accurate overviews you can review anytime. Whether you're revising for exams or catching up on missed classes, summaries save you time and boost comprehension of the topics at hand.
